Use our checklist below and plan ahead to help minimise the stress of moving home
Notify landlord (if applicable)
Book time off work
Get rid of your unwanted items. Do a car boot sale, donate to charity shops.
Inform cable/satellite/telephone provider of your moving date to organise installation
Moving out of the area? Re-register at doctors, dentist.
Arrange with Royal Mail to re-direct post to your new address
Organise for someone to look after children and pets during the move
Cancel any local services you use, window cleaner, milkman.
If you are downsizing you may need to organise storage, we can help you with this.
Keep Removal Company informed of any changes
Pack and label a box with emergency supplies
Take meter readings from both properties on the day of your move
Re-register on the electoral list
Write a note for the new occupiers of your old home on anything you feel useful for them. Where’s the stop-cock?
